# Tailcroft — Privacy Policy

*Last updated: 27 August 2026*

## Who we are

This store is operated by Tailcroft ("we", "us", "our"), which is the data controller for the personal information collected through this website. Full trading details, including our registered name and address for correspondence and service of documents, are given in the Contact us section below.

Contact: shoptailcroft@gmail.com

## What we collect

When you browse or buy from us, we may collect:

- Your name, email address, postal address, and phone number (if given)
- Order details — what you bought, when, and for how much
- Payment information, processed directly by our payment provider — we do not store your full card details
- Device and browsing information such as IP address, browser type, and pages viewed, collected automatically via cookies and similar technologies
- Anything you send us directly, such as a message through our contact form or by email

## Why we use it, and our legal basis

| Purpose | Legal basis |
|---|---|
| Fulfil and deliver your order, handle payment | Performance of a contract |
| Respond to enquiries, handle returns or complaints | Contract / legitimate interest |
| Meet UK tax and accounting record-keeping obligations | Legal obligation |
| Improve this website and understand how it's used | Legitimate interest, or consent where required |
| Send marketing (e.g. email offers, ad targeting) | Consent only |

We will never use your data for marketing without your consent, and you can withdraw that consent at any time. At the time of writing, we do not run tracking pixels (such as Meta or TikTok) on this site. If that changes, this policy will be updated first.

## Cookies

We use essential cookies needed to run the store — cart, checkout, and security. Where required, a cookie banner asks for your consent before any non-essential cookies (such as analytics or advertising cookies) are set, in line with UK PECR rules. You can change your cookie choices at any time via the cookie settings link in the site footer, or through your browser settings.

## Who we share it with

We share your information only where necessary to run this business:

- **Shopify** — our e-commerce platform, which hosts the store and processes payments
- **Our fulfilment partners** — who pack and ship your order
- **Professional advisers** — such as an accountant, where required

We do not sell your personal information to anyone.

## International transfers

Some of our fulfilment partners are located outside the UK, so your name, address, and order details may be transferred internationally for fulfilment purposes. Where this happens, we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as the UK Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses, or the fact that the transfer is necessary to fulfil your order.

## How long we keep it

We keep order and customer information for as long as needed to fulfil orders, handle returns, and meet our legal obligations — including UK tax record-keeping requirements, which generally require records to be kept for around 6 years. We delete or anonymise personal data once it's no longer needed for these purposes.

## Your rights

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:

- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your data, where applicable
- Object to or restrict certain processing
- Request a copy of your data in a portable format
- Withdraw consent at any time, where processing is based on consent

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at shoptailcroft@gmail.com. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk if you believe we have mishandled your data.

## Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time — for example, if we start using a new supplier, payment provider, or ad platform. The "last updated" date at the top will always reflect the latest version. We encourage you to check back periodically.
